So the holiday season is in full swing and I have to admit that I am a bit more in the spirit this year than in previous ones. A new love affair may have a lot to do with it as he is all the Christmas spirits rolled into one person. In honor of that festive spirit that seems to be growing in my Grinch heart, I offer you a Top Ten Gayest Christmas Songs list.
Coming in at number 10, Make it Jingle by Big Freedia. I mean how can you get more gay than Big Freedia dressed up for a festive holiday song where it wants to teach Santa how to spin? And nothing is more festive that twerking yo ass like a bunch of jingle bells.N
There may be Nine Ladies Dancing, but our number nine is Pink Christmas by Slink. If you haven’t heard of Slink, there is no worry. They are punk supergroup made up of members of other bands. The sound of this song is more bubblegum pop than punk. The video is reflective of the 90s boy band era and if you love colored lip gloss, then this is for you.
Coming it at number 8 is Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt. This icon leaves us with not much else to say, I mean, why wouldn’t Santa come visit her the way she purrs out her dulcet tones. Just make sure you hurry and don’t leave her waiting.
At 7, we have My Only Wish (This Year) by Brittney Spears. “Leave Brittney alone” to sing her Christmas song. Sleigh bells always seems to make a very harmonious holiday hullabaloo. And apparently her only wish is a piece of ass for under her tree. Who can really complain about that?
From a movie that had absolutely nothing to do with Christmas do we find our number six song. Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton. She pretty much is a LGBTQ staple, avid ally and supporter and has been since she started her music career. If you don’t own Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, then check out this video.
Five golden rings brings us to Last Christmas by Wham! This song came out before George Michael did, but here he is belting out his love for someone who just threw him away. Did you see that luxurious hair? How could anyone.
Coming in at number 4, Nothing for Christmas by RuPaul. With this video, I cant even. This video is amazing as it includes some vintage RuPaul performances before she became the Drag Idol she is now. Check it out and see how you feel about it.
If you ever say the Judy Garland Christmas, this this song will be old hat. Thankfully, Judy isn’t as drunk in our number three song, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
With all of those out of the way, the last two are a bit more special to me. Number two is Step Into Christmas by Elton John. The Queen of Fabulous doesn’t fail even with he is belting out Christmas tunes.
Number one is, of course, All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey. Definitely features on any Christmas playlist I have ever made. Hard to replace someone with lungs like hers.
As a bonus, I give you a new favorite. All I Want for Christmas Is The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson. I don’t feel I need to say anything else about this song.
